R.Olano Handicrafts introduces “The Craft Series”, a series of   seminar workshops which will train your people to make  different handicraft  projects which can turn into a favorite hobby or a source of income.

Mechanics: The Project cost shall include the  speaker’s fee and raw materials for 30 persons, but will exclude snacks for the participants.If the class exceed 30, the extra student shall pay 1/30th  of the project cost. Since this is an on-site training, venue and snacks of  the trainor will be shouldered by the sponsoring organization/class. For out-of-town trainings, transportation and meals will be shouldered by the sponsoring organization.


Who should attend:
Any group or any organization who is interested to learn  or an income-generating hobby. We highly encourage:

    1) Student Organizations
    2) Cooperatives
    3) Home Economic Students
    4) Women’s organizations
    5) Foundations handling women


Project I    Macrame Series

    a. Basic Macrame – teaches the 4 basic knots. Output: 2 bracelets/2anklets. Level:  Beginner. Project cost :P 999 or P34.00 per student if above 30
Intermediate Macrame – teaches variations of the 4 basic knots. Output: 1 headband and 1 necklace. Wholeday. P1,999 or P67 per student
    b. Macrame Challenge – for the adventurous student. Teaches the more macramé difficult knots. Output: belt. Wholeday. P1,999 or P67 per student


Project II    Dreamcatcher Series

    a. Abaca mini – teaches the basic of weaving dreamcatcher. Output: 3-inch abaca dreamcatcher. Beginner level. Halfday. P1,999 or P67 per student
    b. Leather Dreamcatcher – output: 5-inch dreamcatcher made of leather and cotton. Intermediate level. P2,500 or P84 per student
    c. Dreamcatcher minis – requires dexterity and patience. mini dreamcatchers that can be made into necklaces, key-chains, or earrings. Output: 1 keychain, 1 necklace. Intermmediate level. Wholeday. P1,500


Project III    Potpuorri Series

    a. Heart décor – teaches making of potpourri from dried flowers and wood shavings. Output: single heart potpourri décor made of ribbons and lace. Beginner level.   P1,700

    b. triple heart door décor – macramé combined with a little bit of sewing. Fragrant hearts which can be hung on doors or closets. Intermediate. P3,000


Project IV    Dried Flower Series

    a. Pressed Flower Handmade Cards – teaches the rudiments of flower pressing. Output: handmade cards made of dried flowers and handmade paper. Output: 2 pcs. Handmade card. Beginner P1,700.

    b. Dried flower Wall Décor – wall décor made of dried flowers, raffia and vines. Can be framed or just hung on the wall. Intermediate. P3,200

    c. Topiary – teaches the basic of making topiaries, and topiary design. Made of dried flowers, seeds and vines. Beginner. P3,500

    d. Potpourri sachets – mini-sachets full of fragrant topiary, which is stored in closets or drawers to keep them scented.  Can also be hung and decorated according to the season, Christmas, spring or Halloween. Output: 3 mini sachets. Beginner.  P1,500


Project V    Shell craft series

    a. Basic Shell Chime – chimes using shells collected during summer outings. Made of shells and vines. Beginner. P2,000

    b. Rattan Door hanger – shells combined with macramé to make a nice door décor which tinkles . beginner. P2,000

    c. Simple Door hanger- simple door hanger made of abaca rope, mini-bells and shells, made using macramé. Beginner.P2,000

    d. Shell collage – A scene by the shore recreated in a framed collage. Made of vines , shells , handmade paper and jute. P2,000

Project VI    Christmas craft series

    a. Christmas Tree hangers – make your own affordable ornaments for your Christmas tree. Lesson output: 3 Christmas abaca balls and 3 mini-Wreaths.
Beginner. P3,000

    b. Christmas Angel – native Angel decor made of Jute, Raffia and  rattan ring.
Intermediate.P3,000

    c. holiday centerpiece – make your own dazzling holiday centerpiece using affordable native materials. P4,500


Project VII    Jewelry making series

    a. Jewelry 101 – learn the basic techniques in jewelry making, the tools of the trade and the materials used. Lesson will include a basic jewelry kit and materials. Intermediate. Halfday. P4,500 

    b. hook earrings – learn the basic of twisting and crimping to make these different hook earrings. Output: 6 sets of hook earrings.
For adults only. Beginner. P2,000

    c. Beaded Bracelets – learn the basic designs of beaded bracelets. Output: 3 beaded bracelets. Intermediate.P2,000

    d. Necklaces – learn the basic designs of necklaces: the y, the cup, the stringed. Output: 3 necklaces. Beginner. P3,000


Project VIII    Paper mache box series

    a. Wallpaper boxes – spruce up a plain box or or tin can with cheap matte wallper and some beads. Beginner. P2,000

    b. Beaded boxes – more intricate looking boxes with your own personal designs traced with beads. Intermediate. P2,000

    c. Grouted boxes – with grout, you can put anything on your boxes: beads, marbles, glass, shells, etc. beginner. P3,000
